The Division has 22 full-time and part-time faculty members who graduated from institutions such as Princeton, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, University of Virginia, Northwestern, Perdue, Columbia, New York University, University of Texas at Houston, Michigan State, and North Carolina State University.
The Division currently has 247 majors and minors. Students have taken advantage of the many internship opportunities. Most graduates attend graduate or professional schools or find suitable employment in their majors.
Mission
The mission of the Division of Social Sciences is to motivate, equip and develop students to become globally attuned, socially aware and cosmopolitan in outlook; to integrate 21st century technology with human compassion; to bring about positive change in the world; and, to prepare students for graduate and professional studies.
Within the scope of the mission, the Division provides a meaningful and challenging academic experience for students preparing to embark upon careers in African and African American History, American History, Criminal Justice, Forensic Science, International Studies, Political Science, Pre-Law, Psychology, Social Work, and Sociology.
