The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at Saint Augustine’s College invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in Communication with a special emphasis in Health Communication. The successful applicant will be responsible for building a program in Health communication that focuses on how prevention, health and healing are enhanced through a communicative medium and impact a diverse community. Special consideration will be given to applicants who possess research, teaching and service interests that show a creative perspective of globalization. The successful candidate must also have strong interpersonal and public communicative skills to perform as an effective advisor to students on campus as well as a scholar to members of an international and/or intercultural community off campus. A 12-hour teaching load (four courses) is expected each semester.
Ph. D is required with a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching/advising and continued scholarly development. Furthermore, the potential for securing external funding is extremely desirable.
