Employee Giving Campaign drawing winners
Congratulations to following winners of the Employee Giving Campaign drawing: Margaret Boddie, Homecoming tickets and parking pass; Audrey Ivory, visor; and Chinita Elliott, visor. They were entered into a drawing after pledging their support for the Employee Giving Campaign during last week’s kickoff.

Faculty/staff flu vaccine clinic planned
A faculty and staff flu vaccine clinic will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, in the Gordon Student Health Center. The vaccine is free for faculty and staff members who are enrolled in Blue Cross Blue Shield. Call 516-4168 to sign up. The deadline to sign up is Tuesday, Oct. 6. Please have your insurance card the day of the flu clinic.
Library introduces alumni author series
On Sunday, Oct. 18, the Prezell R. Robinson Library will be launching an author series. The library is partnering with the Division of Social Sciences to bring in notable alumni from Saint Augustine’s College who have been published. Dr. Prezell R. Robinson will be the first in the series. Robinson will reflect on his newest publication, “A Man’s Reach Should Exceed His Grasp.” The event will begin at 3 p.m. with an intellectual discussion, book signing and reception.
Join the Falcons in Charlotte
The Saint Augustine’s College Falcons will face the Bluefield College Rams at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 27, at the Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte. Tickets for the game are $30. Stay to see the Charlotte Bobcats play the Cleveland Cavaliers at 7 p.m. One $30 ticket gets you into both games. Tickets will be available in the Saint Augustine’s College cashier’s office in the Hunter Building. Tickets are also available online at Falcons in Charlotte. For more information, call 516-4343.

Falcons lose 42-32 to Shaw
Saint Augustine’s College controlled the first half, but Shaw University came back in the second half to beat the Falcons 42-32 in a key CIAA football game Saturday, Oct. 3, at Millbrook High School.
Kris Brownlee (R-So./Philadelphia, Pa.) threw a touchdown pass and ran for another touchdown to lead the Falcons, who led 17-3 in the second quarter when LaBranzo Rish (So./Columbia, S.C.) scored on a 54-yard interception return with 3:10 left before halftime. Adison Daniels (Sr./Raleigh, N.C.) added the extra point.
The Bears closed the margin to 17-10 at halftime, and then outscored the Falcons 32-15 in the second half for the victory. The season series is now even at 3-3 since 2002.
Shuping finishes second in HBCU Challenge
Johnny Shuping of Saint Augustine's College crossed the finish line in second place in the HBCU Challenge at the Great American Cross Country Festival on Saturday, Oct. 3, at WakeMed Soccer Park.
Shuping finished in a time of 25:11 on the 8K course. His teammate Chayce Smith of the Falcons placed fifth individually with a time of 26:05.
