HONORS PROGRAM DRESS CODE

Mission
The Honors Program at Saint Augustine’s College is dedicated to developing scholars and leaders. To this end, Honors Program Scholars are expected to dress neatly at all times. The requirement is intended to ensure that Honors Scholars are dressed appropriately to meet with the public at a moment’s notice. The following are examples of appropriate dress for various occasions:

Neat, modest, casual or dressy attire. |
For men: jeans, polo-type shirts, or other types of collared shirt or sweater (for men). For women: blouse, dressy tee, or sweater, capris must be mid (not upper) calf. For men and women: footwear should be selected according to the type of activity performed, keeping safety, comfort, and professional appearance in mind.
PLEASE NOTE : Hats must be removed in all buildings and do-rags are not permitted outside of the residence halls. |
All formal programs held at Saint Augustine’s College: College Chapel/Church, Seby B. Jones, Opening Convocation, Awards Day, Campus Receptions, President’s Literary Dinner Commencement |
Business or dressy attire |
For men: business suit, solid color shirt and tie or Tuxedo with all accessories, footwear for men includes wing tips, loafers, or rubber sole shoes with socks. For women: dresses or suits with either skirts or slacks, tea length formal dresses or ladies tuxedo with appropriate accessories, footwear for women includes heels, loafers, or rubber sole shoes with socks or hosiery. |

For men: business suit (black or blue), white (solid color) shirt and tie, footwear for men includes wing tips, loafers, or rubber sole shoes with socks. For women: dresses or suits with skirts or slacks, footwear for women includes heels, loafers, or rubber sole shoes with socks or hosiery. |

For men: dress pants with a dress shirt or polo-type shirt worn with a jacket or a dress shirt worn with a tie but no jacket. For women: a skirt or dress slacks with a dressy blouse and/or sweater, or other type of top with a jacket. |

Formal, semi-formal and dressy respectively. |
For men: Tuxedo with all accessories, footwear for men includes wing tips, loafers, or rubber sole shoes with socks. For women: full-length evening gown, tea length formal dresses or ladies tuxedo with appropriate accessories, footwear for women includes heels, loafers, or rubber sole shoes with socks or hosiery. |
Examples of inappropriate dress and/or appearance
1. Do-rags, stocking caps, skullcaps and bandanas are prohibited at all times on the campus of Saint Augustine’s College (except in the privacy of the student's living quarters).
