Description of Event: This one day event will highlight and chronicle the invaluable role the Black Media has played in American culture. The mission of the conference is to engage members of the Black Press, students, scholars of history, journalism and African American studies, AND AFRICAN AMERICANS CURRENTLY WORKING IN MAINSTREAM MEDIA, in critical analysis and dialogue regarding the history and future of the Black Press.
