Gateway Adult Learner Program
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Recruits, counsels students and community, provides research and reports, travels to satellite sites to conduct recruiting seminars, attends college career fairs, visits area community colleges and surrounding businesses in an effort to recruit, assists with Open House facilitation and other duties as assigned.
Establishes long-range goals in recruitment and enrollment. Conducts research and reviews new adult learners and transfer applications for admission. Makes accurate decisions based on applicant’s credentials relevant to Saint Augustine’s College admission standards. Recruits and enrolls new adult learners and transfer students.
Provides recruitment reports and project reports at the request of the Director of the Gateway Adult Learner Program. Compiles travel schedule for recruitment staff. Other duties as deemed necessary by the Director, Provost and President of the College.
Responsible for individual management of walk-in appointments and prompt telephone response to any admission inquiry.
Over-night travel is required.
COMPETENCIES:
Must have knowledge of the admission’s process for the Gateway Adult Learner Program and Saint Augustine’s College.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree required. Graduation from a four-year college or university and one year of experience working as an officer in an admissions office at a post-secondary institution of higher learning; or equivalent combination of training and experience. Must communicate effectively with people from varied social, educational, and economic backgrounds. Must be able to work without constant supervision, make decisions, and have good judgment. Must be able to handle multiple tasks and projects and prioritize based on departmental functionality. Must have a high level of professional appearance and demeanor and have the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Position Title Director of Human Resources
Human Resources
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop Human Resources policies and programs for all staff employment and on a limited basis for faculty. The major areas covered are organizational planning, organizational development, employment, indoctrination and training, employee relation compensation and benefits. Assist and advices senior administrators on Human Relations issues.
Formulate and recommend Human Resources policies and objectives for the entire college.
Determine and recommend employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale.
Identify legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting Human Resources function (e.g. EEO, ERISA, Wage and Hour). Monitor exposure of the college. Direct the preparation of information requested or required for compliance. Approves all information submitted. Acts as primary contact with labor counsel and outside government agencies.
Protect interests of employees and the college in accordance with the institution’s Human Resources policies and government laws and regulations. Review and submit recommendations for terminations. Reviews employee appeals through compliant procedure.
Direct a process of organizational planning that evaluate structure, job design and manpower forecasting throughout the college. Coordinate activities across division lines. Evaluate plans and changes to plans. Make recommendations to senior administrators.
Review and recommend appropriate studies and/or consultants to establish/maintain wage and salary structure, pay policies, performance appraisal programs, employee benefit programs and services. Monitor for effectiveness and cost containments.
Establish standard recruiting and placement practices and procedures. Review variances to schedules.
Coordinate and/or conduct in house management training programs that address company needs across division lines (e.g. Performance appraisal, hiring and firing, labor law related issues).
Select and coordinate use of Human Resources consultants, insurance brokers, insurance carriers, pension administrators, training specialist, labor counsel and other outsides sources.
Conducts a continuing study of all Human Resources policies, programs and practices to keep the college abreast with current practices and informed of new developments.
Direct the preparation and maintenance of such reports are necessary to carry out functions of department. Prepare periodic report to senior administrator, as necessary or requested.
Keep supervisor informed of significant problems that jeopardize the achievement of objectives and those which are not being addressed adequately at the line management level.
Develop and recommend budgets. Authorize expenditure in accordance with budget. Approve budget and expenses or subordinates.
Develop short and long-range operating objectives, organizational structure and staffing requirements.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s Degree in HR Management (or 10 years of equivalent formal training).

Position Title Grant Writer
Institutional Advancement & Development
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under general administrative direction, writes, coordinates, implements and evaluates a grant writing program based on the Colleges financial and program goals. The grant writer will:
• Report directly to the Vice President of Institutional Advancement in all matters that affect the functions of the organization,
• Write letters of inquiry, proposals, reports and other correspondence to foundations, corporations, and government sponsors.
• Assist staff in planning and responding to request for proposals as directed. Compile data and write or rewrite text for grant applications.
• Conduct research in regard to the availability of federal, state, corporate, foundation and private grant dollars consistent with the mission of Saint Augustine’s College. Monitors trends and opportunities for grant development.
• Tracks and monitors status of funding proposals and develop summary analysis of monthly activities/results. Assist in completing quarterly, annual and continuation reports for grants awarded to SAC.
• Develop and implement procedures to ensure donors receive appropriate reports.
• Develop and maintain good working relationship with grant officers.
• Coordinate information flow with Finance and other departments.
• Assist in preparing budgets.
• Participate in site visits with sponsors.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of three years of experience writing grants for non-profits.
• Experience with research, budgeting, accounting, and finance.
• Knowledge of the evaluation process related to federal, state and special grant funded programs.
• Solid computer skills and proficiency in word processing, data base management, spreadsheets, presentations software and Internet research tools.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and the general public.

Position Title
Contracts, Grants, & Scholarships Accountant

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Contracts, Grants, & Scholarships Accountant primarily serve as the principal contact for the Office of Business & Finance for contracts, grants, and endowed scholarships.
Provide accurate, timely and financial reports to the College and granting agency for all funded contracts and grants.
Prepare and file required reports in accordance with contract and grant requirements.
Facilitate Program/Project Directors in monitoring all grant activities for compliance with applicable regulations and guidelines and adherence to College policies and procedures.
Maintain files and a comprehensive database of information for funded contracts and grants
Establish and maintain a library of resources and information.
Assist in review of proposals for assuring compliance with all applicable sponsor regulations and College policies and procedures.
Assist in preparation for internal and external review of contract and grant activities.
Provide timely records to institutional development concerning endowed scholarships. Work with Institutional Development to reconcile donations received and posted for the College.
Reconcile selected assigned agency accounts to the G/L in a timely and accurate manner.
Back-up the cashier.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Special Projects & Assignments:
Assist supervisor with analysis, implementation and achievement of departmental goals and objectives.
Prepare for audit; work with auditors and research audit inquiries.
Assist in completion of various surveys and questionnaires for the Office of Institutional Research.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors degree in accounting, business administration, or related field preferred

Position Title Police Officer Campus Police Department
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :
The Police Officer investigates all crimes occurring on the campus; identifies state and campus violations; makes apprehensions and arrests; interviews witnesses, victims, and suspects; writes and prepares reports; and testifies in court. The officer also collects evidence, writes campus tickets and uniform citations along with directing traffic. This position requires shift work and sometimes special event assignments.
