Faculty/Staff Spotlight: Linda Hubbard

Dr. Linda Rose Hubbard joined the Saint August University family February 5, 2008.
Prior to coming to Saint Augustine's University, Dr. Hubbard served as Academic Dean for the School of Education at Meredith University and Department Chair in the School of Education at Shaw University. In these roles, she had the responsibility of promoting the direction and vision of the teacher education programs.
In addition to her experience at the higher education level, she served as an Educational Consultant II at the Department of Public Instruction. In this position, Dr. Hubbard collaborated with public and private institutions regarding their teacher education programs. This involvement allowed her to see how institutions addressed various issues as they relate to students entering into the teaching field.
Prior to the above experiences, Dr. Hubbard spent 21 years in the public schools. Her experiences at the public school level included serving as a classroom teacher, coordinator for student services, assistant principal and principal.
Dr. Hubbard received her B.A. in Music and a Master's in Guidance and Counseling at North Carolina Central University. She received her Ph.D. in Special Education Administration and Educational Leadership at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale
Dr. Hubbard's career path, over the years, has positioned her to assume a leadership role where she can affect the quality of life for students and faculty. Her background encompassed varied experiences that led to her development as an academic leader, who is passionate about faculty and student success.
