Russell G. Brodie graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Journalism with a concentration in Broadcast. Brodie went on to Duke University, where he earned a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Cultural Studies and International Affairs. Currently, Brodie is the Director of Global Study Abroad and International programs at Saint Augustine's University. He is also pursuing his Doctorate in Education from the University of Glasgow in Scotland.

Brodie completed the United Nations Intensive Summer Study Program of the John C. Whitehead School of Diplomacy and International Relations at Seton Hall University. He received a certificate from the United States Institute of Peace in Conflict Analysis as well as completed courses in American Sign Language and Cued Speech. He has studied abroad to learn Italian art and architecture in Florence, Italy and studied London theater and culture in London, England. Brodie has interned in Hollywood, California at Entertainment Tonight and worked as an On-Air Personality and Executive Producer/Writer at Radio One Broadcasting. He serves on the Academic Council of the United Nations Systems and has served as a National Urban League mentor.

Currently he serves as Director of Global Study Abroad and International Programs, Quality Enhancement Plan Director and Assistant Professor at Saint Augustine's University. He was selected to participate in the Mellon Fellow Community Initiative in Salzburg, Austria and recently completed a fellowship with the Institute for International Public Policy in conjunction with Howard University, Middlebury University, and the University of Maryland.
