Sandra first joined Saint Augustine's University in 1996. While employed at the University, she has served in the following areas: Alumni Affairs, Academic Advising and Support Center, Career Services Center, the Business Education Department.

In February 2009, Sandra White began to serve St. Aug as Director of the Division of Extended Studies at the Henderson Site in Henderson, NC. She has served on the following committees: Community Development Corporation, Advisor to Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Coronation Committee, Judicial Appeal Committee, Advisor to Pre-Alumni Council, National Pre-Alumni Council Board, Recruitment and Enrollment Committee, and other positions appointed by the President.

In 1975, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Education from Saint Augustine's University. In 1984, White earned a M.A. degree in Career Counseling from North Carolina Central University.

She has been employed at numerous companies such as, Forest Hills High School in Marshville, NC, North Carolina State University in the Agricultural Department for the Expanded Food and Nutrition Program (EFNEP), Progress Energy as a Technical Writer, American Airlines, FEMA (earthquake assistance for Californian residents), Wake Technical Community University, Elizabeth City State University, and W.E. B. DuBois Community Development Corporation.

Her professional affiliations include the National Business Education Association, National Academic Advising Association, Technical Writers Communication Association, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. (Lifetime Member), Henderson-Vance Chamber of Commerce Marketing Department and Kittrell Job Corps Center Industry Council.

White's community involvement includes membership in the Vance-Henderson Chamber of Commerce and the Kittrell Job Corps Center Industry Council. She has volunteered for the Meal-on-Wheels program, taught adult learners at the Wake County Literacy Council, counseled adults at the Women Counseling Center, served on the Mechanics & Farmers Bank Advisory Board and served as President of the Voter Registration Drive.

White is from Bunn, North Carolina (Franklin County), and has been a resident of Wake County since the 80's.
