July 9, 2012

Tremayne Henry starts his tenth season at Saint Augustine's University, including his sixth year as co-defensive coordinator. Under his guidance, the Falcons consistently rank in the top 10 nationally for total defense.

Henry played a huge role in the development of current NFL player Alex Hall, an All-American defensive end for the Falcons in 2006 and 2007. Former defensive tackle Marcus Kennedy, another Henry pupil, gained All-American honors in 2008 while at Saint Augustine's University.

Henry, whose specialty is the defensive line, has produced one NFL player, two All-Americans and seven All-CIAA players at St. Aug. Before joining the Falcon staff, Henry was an offensive line coach at Elizabeth City State University and defensive line coach at Statesville and North Iredell high schools.

In addition to coaching, Henry spends time as a youth mentor. He is a former juvenile court counselor and his hobbies are music, cooking and drag racing. Henry is also an avid fisherman.

As a player, Henry was a three-time university football letterman at Mars Hill University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science in 1994.

A Statesville, NC, native, Henry excelled at defensive tackle and defensive end for North Iredell High School. He was an all-conference performer and team defensive MVP in high school.
