On the morning of October 19, 2011, the Office of Alumni Affairs, in conjunction with the Belk Professional Development Center, hosted a series of seminars presented by Saint Augustine's University alumni.
"It is important for current students to see how successful many of our alum are, they need to see they can be successful too," said Sheryl Ximines, director of Alumni Affairs.
Cyril Burnside, class of 1997 and owner of a semi- professional basketball team, stressed the importance of internships in his presentation. "GPA proves you can be taught and are reliable but an internship gives you hands on experience."
Military officer and Iraqi veteran, Voris McBurnette, class of 1991, encouraged students to set goals. "What are you trying to achieve? Set short, intermediate and long term goals to determine what you want to accomplish."
