altFour Saint Augustine's University students joined reporters from across the country at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C., Monday, Sept. 3, for hands-on experience in political reporting and a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Jonathan Dockery-Statesville, NC, Aisha Taylor-Groton, CT, Claude Simeus-West Palm Beach, Fl. and Christian Roberson-Richmond, VA, interviewed delegates, shot b-roll, and produced news stories for WAUG, Saint Augustine's University's radio and television station. Former President Bill Clinton, Congressman Mel Watt of North Carolina, Obama Campaign Co-Chair Eva Longoria, San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro, the first Latino keynote speaker at a Democratic National Convention, and Newark New Jersey Mayor, Cory Booker all made appearances during the Democratic National Convention.

President Obama and Vice President Biden accepted the Democratic nominations for President and Vice President on Thursday, Sept. 6.
