Senior forward LaConya Polk (Menifee, AR), hit a free throw with one second left to give Saint Augustine's College a 65-64 non-conference basketball win over Mount Olive on Friday, December 29, 2006. The Lady Falcons upped their record to 3-7 overall, while the loss snapped a three-game Lady Trojans' (4-4) winning streak.
Senior guard Valicia Brown (Riverdale, MD), led the Lady Falcons with 20 points and seven rebounds including 4 of 8 3-point shooting. Sophomore guard Kenyada Wade (Detroit, MI), added 12 points and senior forward Renata Spinks (Jonesboro, LA), recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Junior guard Dorothy Vernoy (Frederick, MD), had seven rebounds and four assists.
Tomeka Prichard led four Lady Trojans in double figures with 17 points. Alisa Jones added 14 points, Keona Corley contributed 12 points, 12 assists and five steals and Helen Moore scored 10 points.
Brown led a late Lady Falcons' surge with four 3-pointers in the final eight minutes. Her last three at the two-minute mark gave the Lady Falcons a 62-56 lead before the Lady Trojans tied the score in the final seconds.
