Alex Hall (Glenarden, MD) and Kevin Jones (South Hill, VA) of Saint Augustine’s College received more national recognition on Monday, January 8, 2006. Hall was named to the 2006 D2football.com All-America Division II second team, while Jones was an honorable mention pick.
Last month, both players were named to the 2006 Daktronics and Associated Press All-America teams. The national postseason honors are the first for any Saint Augustine’s College player since the college restarted football in 2002.
Both players led a stingy Falcons defense which ranked No. 2 nationally in Division II and first in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) in total defense at the end of the regular season. They were All-CIAA first-team picks and Jones was selected the 2006 CIAA defensive player of the year.
