Richard Boone of Saint Augustine’s College was selected to the 2006 All-CIAA Freshman Football Team on Monday, November 6, 2006.

Boone, a 5-9, 185-pound freshman, contributed at wide receiver, punter, kickoff returner and punt returner for the Falcons this season. His three touchdowns (2 pass receptions, 1 punt return) are tied for second on the team. One of his touchdown catches included an 80-yard reception against Carson-Newman on September 16, 2006, the team’s longest pass play this season. He also averaged 35.9 yards on 68 punts, with his longest punt traveling 57 yards.

Boone caught four passes for 168 yards and two touchdowns, returned three punts for a 25.7 yard average and a touchdown and returned eight kickoffs for a 27.9 yard average. He also rushed seven times for a 4.0 yard average.

Boone was named CIAA rookie of the week after returning a punt 64 yards for a touchdown in a 15-3 victory over Fayetteville State on October, 28, 2006.
