Eric McLaughlin (Danville, VA) of Saint Augustine’s College was named CIAA football receiver of the week on Sunday, November 5, 2006.
McLaughlin, a 6-6, 210-pound junior wide receiver, caught five passes for 103 yards and a touchdown in a 26-6 loss to Winston-Salem State in the Falcons’ final regular-season game. One of his receptions was a 58-yard touchdown bomb from quarterback Duane Smith (Temple Hills, MD) which provided the Falcons’ only points during the game.
The catches and receiving yards were a career-high for McLaughlin, who tied Rashard Wilson (Charlotte, NC) for most catches in a game this season. His 103 receiving yards are the most by a Falcons’ player this season.
This is the first CIAA weekly honor for McLaughlin. He is the fifth Falcons’ player to win a league weekly award this season. |
