Four Falcons Will Run In Southeast Regional
WINGATE, NC – Saint Augustine’s College is sending four runners to the 2007 NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Nov. 3 at Wingate University.
Ken Samoei (Kenya) and George Smith (Bermuda) will compete in the 10K men’s race, and Erica Young (Raleigh, NC) and Sharona Brown (Manchester, VA) will run in the 6K women’s race. Both Samoei and Young are the 2007 CIAA cross country individual champions, while Smith placed third in the CIAA men’s race and Brown was second in the women’s race. Young led Saint Augustine’s College to the CIAA women’s team title in October |

Saint Augustine’s, Virginia State Capture CIAA Cross Country Titles
CARY, NC – The 2007 CIAA Cross Country Championships represented the old and the new on Thursday, Oct. 18, at SAS Soccer Park.
Conference powerhouse Saint Augustine’s won another CIAA title, this time in the women’s race. Meanwhile, Virginia State won its first ever CIAA men’s championship, snapping Saint Augustine’s two-year reign. |

Saint Augustine’s College is ranked eighth regionally in the latest NCAA Division II Men’s Cross Country Rankings released this week by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Association. This is the third straight week since the season started that the Falcons have been ranked regionally in the Southeast. |

Falcon Runners Fare Well At Raleigh Invitational
RALEIGH, NC - Saint Augustine's College held its own at the 2007 Raleigh
Cross Country Invitational on Friday, Sept. 14.
The Lady Falcons placed fourth with 104 points in the 5K women's race, and
the Falcon men finished sixth in the 5K men's race with 154 points. Their
scores were impressive considering that several Division I schools competed
in the event, held at SAS Soccer Park. |

Williams Named Top CIAA Men’s Cross Country Coach for 2006
Esteemed coach, George Williams of Saint Augustine’s College, recently won the 2006 CIAA Men’s Cross Country Coach of the Year Award. Williams, the 2004 U.S. Olympic Track and Field Head Coach, directed the Falcons to their second straight CIAA Men’s Cross Country Championship in October at SAS Soccer Park in Cary, NC. The Falcons have won 21 CIAA Men’s Cross Country titles under Williams. |

Jaimes Runs Personal Best at NCAA Cross Country Championships
Issreal Jaimes (Wilson, NC) of Saint Augustine’s College ran a personal best time of 31:37 at the NCAA Division II Cross Country Men’s National Championships held Saturday, November 18, 2006, at Escambia County Equestrian Center. Jaimes placed 88th out of 187 male runners at the championships. |
