SAINT AUGUSTINE'S SWEEPS 2008 CIAA TRACK AND FIELD TITLES
PETERSBURG, VA - It's another CIAA title sweep for the Saint Augustine's College track and field team. The Falcons successfully defended their men's and women's outdoor crowns at Virginia State on Saturday (April 19). The Falcon men won convincingly while the Falcon women topped Virginia State. The sweep was the second straight and the 10th in 11 seasons for the Falcons, who also swept the 2008 CIAA men's and women's indoor crowns. |

MANKATO, MN – Saint Augustine’s College won its third straight men’s national title and also finished second nationally in the women’s standings at the 2008 NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships held at Myers Field House on Minnesota State University’s campus. |

Coach Williams, Kindred, Young Claim Regional Track and Field Honors
NEW ORLEANS – Indoor track and field standouts Joe Kindred (Fuquay-Varina, NC) and Erica Young (Raleigh, NC) along with Head Coach George Williams of Saint Augustine’s College were named the best in the NCAA Division II Southeast Region for 2008 by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Tuesday (March 11).

Curry Wins 400 at Carolina

Senior Randy Curry (Trussville, AL) of Saint Augustine’s College captured the 400-meter dash in 48.2 seconds at the Carolina Chick-fil-A Invitational indoor track and field meet on the University of North Carolina’s campus on Saturday (Feb. 16). |

Falcons Sweep 2008 CIAA Indoor Track and Field Titles
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The 2008 CIAA Indoor Track and Field Championships turned out to be another coronation for Saint Augustine’s College.
The Falcons won both the CIAA men’s and women’s titles in convincing fashion Sunday (Feb. 10) at Christopher Newport University’s Freeman Center. The indoor championships were the 37th overall for the Falcons (23 – Men, 14 – Women), who are the defending 2007 NCAA Division II Men and Women Indoor Champions. |

Coleman, Quarles Win at Texas Roadhouse Carolina Indoor Meet
CHAPEL HILL, NC –Sophomore Elzie Coleman (Newburgh, NY) won the men’s 400 meter dash and junior Brandon Quarles (Phoenix, AZ) won the men’s long jump for Saint Augustine’s College at the 2008 Texas Roadhouse Carolina Classic on Saturday (Feb. 2). UNC-Chapel Hill hosted the indoor track and field meet.
Coleman won the 400 dash in 49.31 seconds, beating Chris Courson of UNC Wilmington, who finished second in 49.37. Quarles leaped 22 feet, 7.25 inches to finish first in the long jump. |

Kindred Sets Records at Penn State Invitational
UNIVERSITY PARK, PA – Junior Joe Kindred (Fuquay-Varina, NC) of Saint Augustine’s College leaped 7-5 to set facility and meet records at the Penn State National Invitational at Horace Ashenfelter III Indoor Track on Saturday (Jan. 26).
Kindred, the 2005 Junior National high jump champion, broke the facility mark (7-4.25) and the meet record (7-3) at the event. He also finished second in the long jump (24-2.50). |
