Saint Augustine’s College scored at will against Saint Paul’s College Tuesday in a CIAA softball doubleheader.
The Falcons won the first game 22-8 and the second game 18-7. In the first game, the Falcons scored nine runs in the fifth inning to rout the Tigers. For the game, Xyena Johnson was 4-for-4 with a double and five RBIs to lead the Falcons. Raquel Spencer was 2-for-2 with a double, triple and four RBIs, and Tereah Albury was 2-for-4 with a home run, double and four RBIs.
Albury also hit a home run in the second game. She was 2-for-2 with a homer and four RBIs, and Brianna Billups was 2-for-3 with a home run, triple and two RBIs. Jacole Tillman added two RBIs on 3-for-3 hitting and Johnson was 2-for-3 with one RBI. Alyce Wesley was the winning pitcher in both five-inning games.
The Falcons (7-11 CIAA, 7-21 overall) host Fayetteville State Thursday (April 13) in a doubleheader at Oakwood Park in their last home game before closing out the regular season at Virginia State Saturday (April 15). The first game against Fayetteville State starts at 1 p.m.
