Saint Augustine’s College swept crosstown rival Shaw University 13-2 and 14-10 in a CIAA softball doubleheader at Walnut Creek Complex on Tuesday, April 10, 2007.

In the first game, Raquel Spencer (Jacksonville, NC) was 2-for-2 with a double and RBI for the Lady Falcons, who led 11-2 after three innings. Antoinette Bailey (Detroit, MI) added a double and an RBI, and Chantle Floyd (Detroit, MI) collected an RBI. 

In the second game, Bailey was 2-for-3 with two doubles and three RBIs for the Lady Falcons. Spencer added two RBIs on 1-for-4 hitting and Diamond Andrews (Detroit, MI) had two RBIs on 1-for-4 hitting with a triple. Chrishauna Thomas (Suitland, MD) and Janay White (Pittsboro, NC) each added a double and an RBI.

The lead changed hands four times before the Lady Falcons (9-15, 9-9 CIAA) exploded for five runs in the seventh inning.

Marquita Pittman, Lakida Whetstone and Sheena Rivers each totaled two hits in the second game for the Lady Bears (7-17, 7-9 CIAA).

Alyce Wesley (Detroit, MI) gained both pitching victories for the Lady Falcons. She held the Lady Bears to three hits in the first game.
