Chrishauna Thomas led Saint Augustine’s College with two hits in an 18-3 loss to North Carolina Central Tuesday evening in the first game of a CIAA softball doubleheader at Hillside High School.
Thomas, a junior from Suitland, Md., hit two singles, one to right field in the second inning and another to third base in the fifth inning. She scored in the fifth inning on an errant throw after Genevieve Taylor singled to center field.
The Falcons totaled five hits for the game including a hit each from Raquel Spencer, Kyuanna Foxx and Taylor. Spencer and Xyena Johnson each drove in a run, and Taylor scored two of the Falcons’ three runs.
In the second game, the Falcons lost 13-0. Their CIAA record after the doubleheader is 4-8 including 2-6 in the Western Division. North Carolina Central is 14-0 in the conference.
The Falcons host arch-rival Shaw Thursday (April 6) at Oakwood Park in a league doubleheader. The first game starts at 1 p.m
