RALEIGH, NC – Saint Augustine’s College lost 9-0 in men’s tennis and 8-0 in women’s tennis to Chowan University on March 7 in the season opener at Lions Park courts.
The Falcons and Lady Falcons play again Monday (March 16) against Johnson C. Smith University at Lions Park starting at 1 p.m.
RALEIGH, N.C. – Saint Augustine’s College will play in the CIAA Women’s Tennis Championships this week for the first time since the conference added the sport in 2002.
The tournament starts Wednesday (April 15) and continues through Saturday (April 18) on the campus of Virginia State University in Petersburg, Va. Matches start each day at 9 a.m. except for Saturday’s finals when they begin at 8 a.m.
The Lady Falcons qualified for the tournament by finishing fourth in the CIAA Western Division. The top four teams in each division (Eastern and Western) qualify for the tournament.
The members of the Lady Falcon tennis team are Martinna Deronette (Sophomore/Brooklyn, N.Y.), Martinne Deronette (Sophomore/Brooklyn, N.Y.), Kira Edgehill (Sophomore/Brooklyn, N.Y.), Tiana Morris (Sophomore/Raleigh, N.C.) and Brittany Shim (Sophomore/West Hempstead, N.Y.).
