Saint Augustine’s College lost to Winston-Salem State 6-3 Thursday in the Falcons’ women’s tennis opener at Lions Park.
The Falcons won two of three doubles matches, however, as the duo of Aurea Griffith and Aria Loveland defeated the Rams’ Amanda Walker and Carmen Davis 8-5 in No. 1 doubles. The Falcons’ team of Shar-Dae Whitter and Suzan Wheat won No. 3 doubles by forfeit. Wheat gained the Falcons’ other point when she won by forfeit in No. 6 singles.
