Livingstone College gave Saint Augustine’s College a brief scare early in the game,  but the Falcons rallied to win a CIAA volleyball match Monday, October 30, 2006, in four games behind Samantha Joseph’s 20 kills. The 24-30, 30-18, 30-16, 30-20 final score confirmed the Lady Falcons (16-8, 13-4 CIAA) will be the Western Division No. 2 seed in the upcoming CIAA Tournament this week in Fayetteville, NC.

After losing the first game, the Falcons took charge as Aurea Griffith (34 assists) set up Joseph, Vittorio McDuffie (14 kills) and Curby Rogers (10 kills) for points. The Falcons became active defensively as Simone Wilson (12 digs), Joseph (10 digs, 2 blocks) and Lauren Troutman (10 digs) kept the ball in play. Charian Jordan led the Lady Blue Bears (4-16, 1-16 CIAA) with 9 kills.

The Lady Falcons conclude the regular season Tuesday, October 31, 2006, with a home match against crosstown rival Shaw on Senior Night. The contest will be the last regular-season match for seniors Griffith, Joseph, McDuffie and Renee Clarke. The match starts at 6 p.m.
