Saint Augustine’s College faces North Carolina Central University for the third time this season in the CIAA Volleyball Semifinals scheduled for Friday, November 3, 2006 at Capel Arena on Fayetteville State University’s campus. The starting time for the match is set for 7 p.m.
The Lady Falcons (19-9 overall), the Western Division No. 2 seed, reached the semifinals after going 2-1 in pool play on Thursday, November 2, 2006, the tournament’s first day. They defeated Shaw University 3-0 (30-20, 32-30, 34-32), Johnson C. Smith University 3-0 (30-23, 30-23, 30-17) and lost to Virginia Union University 3-1 (25-30, 30-25, 15-30, 20-30).
The Lady Falcons faced N.C. Central in the 2005 CIAA Volleyball Semifinals, losing to the Lady Eagles who eventually won the championship. In 2006, the Lady Falcons lost both regular-season meetings against the Lady Eagles, the Western Division No. 1 seed. |
