The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association honored Head Coach Warren Davis and senior outside hitter Aurea Griffith of Saint Augustine’s College on Tuesday, August 29, 2006. Coach Warren was named CIAA volleyball coach of the week and Griffith was selected CIAA volleyball player of the week after the Lady Falcons posted a 2-1 record at the Catawba Classic in Salisbury, NC, over the weekend.

Griffith, a native of St. Thomas, Barbados, posted 57 kills in nine games including 25 kills in a victory over Coker College. She is a 2006 All-CIAA preseason pick and a 2005 All-CIAA volleyball first team member. The Lady Falcons (2-1 overall) opened the 2006 season with three-game victories over West Liberty and Coker College and a defeat to UNC Pembroke at the Catawba Classic. Their next match is away against Virginia State on September 7, 2006
