On Friday February 24, students and faculty from the Allied Health Department of Saint Augustine's University attended the 33rd Annual Minority Health Conference at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
The conference focused on translational research and had over 700 participants including: local non-profits, universities, vendors, researchers and students. Dr. El-Amin, a faculty member in Public Health Sciences, stated that "exposing Saint Augustine's University public health students to health disparities is essential to them becoming effective public health professionals ."
