To be considered eligible for Graduation, all students must complete a Candidacy Form with their faculty advisor. Once reviewed by the Office of the Registrar, seniors will receive written notification of their candidacy status from the Registrar Office (Hunter Building, Boom 106) by Friday, March 31, 2017.
Commencement letters will be distributed to all graduates, even those who completed degree requirements in the summer and fall of 2016. These letters will initially be distributed in the Office of the Registrar (Hunter Building, Room 106) May 4-8 from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
A Clearance Form is required to be completed by all Commencement participants. Beginning April 3, 2017, the form will be available in the Office of Student Accounts (Hunter Building, Room 10). In order to pick up your Commencement Regalia (cap, gown, hood and tassel), you must submit a completed clearance form and present your Commencement letter to the Campus Bookstore staff.

Graduation Photos: A group photo will be taken prior to the Commencement ceremony. Two photos will be taken during the ceremony: one on stage with the President; a second at the bottom of the stage. Proofs will be mailed to your home address. For more information or if you do not receive your proofs, contact Photo Specialties at (919) 967-9576.
Men: Black dress trousers, white shirt w/dark tie, black socks and black dress shoes.
Women: Black dress, black professional slacks or black skirt w/white blouse, flesh tone or black hosiery, black pumps or sling backs (no open toes.)
Jewelry: Small, stud earrings and one ring per hand are permitted.
Please note: Graduation attire will be monitored and enforced. Anyone not in compliance with the above requirements will not be permitted to participate in the ceremony.
Graduation Fee: A $125 charge will be posted to your account. In addition to completing all academic requirements, you must also satisfy your financial obligation to the University to graduate and participate in the Commencement ceremony. This includes payment for cap, gown, and diploma.
Exit Loan Counseling: All students, including those who completed their degree requirements in the summer and fall, should visit www.studentloans.gov to complete the Exit Loan Counseling. You will need your FAFSA PIN to retrieve your personal account information for your Federal Student Loan.
Graduation rehearsal is mandatory for all candidates who expect to participate in the ceremony. Be prepared to stay the entire length of the rehearsal.
Tuesday, April 25 - Thursday, April 27: Final Exams for graduating seniors
Monday, May 1: Final grades posted (graduating seniors) due by 4:00 p.m.
Thursday, May 4 – Monday, May 8: Commencement Letters distributed: Hunter Building, Room 106 (9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.)
Thursday, May 11: (Mandatory) 6:00 p.m. Baccalaureate and Honor Cord Service in Chapel
The Baccalaureate and Honor Cord Service will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. in the Saint Augustine’s Chapel. You will need to assemble for line up on the Quad at 5:30 p.m. The processional will be led by the Crucifer, the Senior Class President and the Senior Class Advisors. Additionally, you are expected to wear your graduation robes but no hoods or caps. In the event of rain, please come directly to the Chapel arriving by 5:40 p.m. to be seated. You are also welcome to arrive earlier.

Parents will not be allowed in these areas.

It has always been a tradition of Saint Augustine's University to hold commencement on the quadrangle. This year, due to expected rain and for the comfort of our graduates and their families, the commencement ceremony will be held in the Julia Chester Emery Gymnasium. The ceremony will begin at 9 a.m. as originally planned.
Due to the location change and seating capacity, each graduating senior will be allocated four tickets for their guests. Tickets will be distributed during graduation rehearsal which is on Friday, May 12 at 12:30 p.m. in the Seby B. Jones Auditorium.
There will be overflow accommodations in the Seby B. Jones Auditorium where the ceremony will be streamed live for viewing. We ask that non-graduating students and other members of the university community be considerate of our graduates and their families, and watch the ceremony from the overflow location. Special provisions will be given for senior citizens and individuals with physical disabilities.
