New interim dean for the School of Business, Management & Technology

Kanton T. Reynolds has been appointed as the interim dean for the School of Business, Management & Technology.

A native of Columbia, S.C., Reynolds received his Bachelor of Science degree in industrial engineering from North Carolina State University. He then matriculated to North Carolina A&T State University where he obtained a Master of Science degree in industrial engineering. Dr. Reynolds later attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he received his MBA from the Kenan-Flagler Business School. In May 2014, Kanton received his Doctor of Philosophy in leadership studies from North Carolina A&T State University with a focus on leadership development in post-conflict countries and emerging nations.

Dr. Reynolds has nearly two decades of corporate leadership and industry experience at General Motors, Delphi Chassis Systems, IBM and Lenovo in a variety of roles including Quality, Process Improvement and Assurance, Performance, Signal Integrity and PC/Server Systems Development.

In addition, Dr. Reynolds has international experience as a graduate intern at the United States Department of State where he was assigned to the political and economic sections of the U.S. Embassy in Lilongwe, Malawi. He has also worked as a graduate researcher at The Carter Center in Atlanta, Ga., where he was responsible for political and human rights issues in Malawi and Sudan as well as monitoring compliance with United Nations treaties and international elections standards for other countries of interest. Most recently, Dr. Reynolds served as an international election observer for The Carter Center in Mahdia, Guyana as a part of the 2015 Parliamentary and Presidential election cycle in the country. He has studied globally in a number of countries including Ghana, South Africa, Malawi and Argentina.
