Communication Specialist/Graphic Designer Christina Baker in the Office of Marketing and Communications has been appointed Director of Emerging Designers within the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) Raleigh. AIGA is a community of designers who have joined together to develop a network that strengthens both their own practice and benefits the profession as a whole.

In this prestigious volunteer position, she will work toward narrowing the gap between veteran designers and emerging designers right out of college. An emerging designer is anyone typically in his or her first three years out of school. Through a variety of workshops, lectures, resources, social events and mentoring, her goal is to provide graduating students/recent graduates with any and everything they will need to become the next leading designers of tomorrow.
