To the bright, innovative, ambitious, inspiring and resilient Class of 2020:

While we are not celebrating this occasion in a traditional way filled with pomp and circumstance, know that your achievement is no less exceptional. Formal graduation ceremony or not, you have made it to the finish line and earned your college degree. Do not be discouraged because of the way your time at SAU has ended. Instead, be encouraged that this is a new beginning and that the start to a great future lies ahead. I salute you with pride and admiration and wish you well as you embark on your journey of becoming amazing leaders and catalysts of change. I am confident that you will find success in your future academic and professional endeavors. I am certain that you will further Saint Augustine’s University’s legacy by creating a legacy of your own. Continue to make us proud and in moments of uncertainty, be reminded of the following words from great lyricist and philosopher, Kendrick Lamar:

“…But if God got us, then We gon’ be alright!”

Congratulations on this incredible accomplishment and may God bless you as you begin the next chapter of your lives!

With great Falcon Pride,

Dr. Murrell
