She has always put her mind to the test and has made sure to achieve every goal that has been put in front of her.

After graduating from high school in May of 2001, she was unsure of her next path so she enrolled in Edgecombe Community College in August of 2001. It was there where she realized where her heart was. She attended the Upward Bound Trio program in high school and often came to Saint Augustine’s College during the summer time to get exposed to college life. It was during her time there she got to know students, staff, and faculty. August 2002 Quanta enrolled into Saint Augustine’s College as a proud Falcon! She majored in English Literature. She was very active with the campus activities board, dorm committees, working in the library and other various activities.

Upon graduating from College in May of 2008, she entered the workforce and started working for Edgecombe County Public Schools as a Substitute teacher. She then went on to get hired by Wilson Public Schools as a Teacher Assistant at Gardner’s Elementary School. She loved her job in education helping the students and staff but wanted more for herself. She stayed in the library so much substituting, she had an epiphany to go back to school and work on her master’s degree. In May of 2018 she graduated from East Carolina University with her Master’s in Library Science. She graduated with honors in the program. She then went on to work in the public library at Edgecombe County Memorial Library, where she started off as a Library Assistant. She was employed there for 3 years. She then decided to apply for Nash County Public Schools for a middle school media specialist position. In January 2020 she started her position at Rocky Mount Middle School where she is currently employed.
