The health and physical education curriculum is designed to prepare pre-service teachers to teach effectively in the content area using strategies and up-to-date techniques in kindergarten through grade twelve. The Health and Physical Education Teacher Education (HPETE) program will prepare skilled, effective teachers who have the ability to obtain licensure in North Carolina by completing a program that includes the study of kinesiology, physical skill physical development, pedagogy, coaching, curriculum development and assessment, administration of physical activity programs and health education.
