In SAU Athletics...

  • Shortstop Danyelle Noland (Fr./Nashville, NC) was named CIAA Softball Defensive Player of the Week and pitcher Jeremy Sandifer (Sr./Virginia Beach, VA) was selected CIAA Baseball Pitcher of the Week on Monday, March 16.
  • Akera McPhaul (Fr./Greensboro, NC) was named CIAA Softball Defensive Player of the Week and Meranda Zanni (So./Phoenix, OR) was chosen CIAA Softball Pitcher of the Week on Thursday, March 19.
  • Roberto Rivera (Fr./Millville, NJ) was named CIAA Baseball Defensive Player of the Week and Philip Hathcock (Sr./Apex, NC) of Saint Augustine’s University was selected CIAA Baseball Pitcher of the Week on Thursday, March 19.
  • Saint Augustine’s University won eight events including six on Saturday, March 21 in the Wake Forest Open outdoor track & field meet at Kenter Stadium.
  • Ten Saint Augustine’s University scholar-athletes were named Indoor Track & Field All-Americans by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
  • Nine Falcons and Lady Falcons were selected to the All-America First Team and one Falcon was placed on the All-America Second Team. The top eight finishers in their respective events at the 2015 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships were named to the first team. For the first time, scholar-athletes who finished ninth through 12th were named to the All-America Second-Team.
  • The Women’s Bowling team tied for fifth at the CIAA Bowling Championship, which was held Friday, March 20, through Sunday, March 22, in Chesapeake, Va. Nicole Sciortino was named to the All-CIAA Team and All-CIAA Tournament Team. The senior bowler has made the All-CIAA and All-CIAA Tournament teams all four years at SAU.
  • The Falcons Baseball Team won all four games against Bluefield State in Cary, N.C. The Falcons won 5-1 and 1-0 on Saturday, March 22, and 7-2 and 9-2 on Sunday, March 23.
  • The softball team posted a 3-3 record in the CIAA Softball Round-Up at Walnut Creek Softball Complex in Raleigh, N.C.
