Makeba Jackson-Corey, Class of 1999

Makeba is a life-long learner with a passion for career actualization, self-discovery and talent development.  Her ability to make the complex simple helps connects aspirational results with tactical methods.  Makeba’s career focus has been learning, organizational development and talent management in higher education and global corporations.  Makeba feels her most valued asset is a teachable spirit “I understanding everyone has something to teach and I possess a willingness to learn. “

Makeba earned her MS in Public Service Leadership from Capella University and her BA in Mass Communication from Saint Augustine’s University.  She has over 2 decades of facilitation and coaching experience with emerging, aspiring and key leaders.  Currently, Makeba is the program manager of the Wolfspeed Rotational Program focused on creating the organization’s strong early in career talent pipeline.

Makeba is from Florence, South Carolina now residing in Clayton, NC with her husband Rick and son Immanuel. Makeba is chair of the Communications, Technology and Public Relations Committee for Johnston County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
