Saint Augustine’s University Campus Police sponsored Watch for Me Campaign

Saint Augustine’s University (SAU) Campus Police in partnership with the Watch for Me Campaign educated and promoted pedestrian and motorist safety during the SAU vs. Claflin men’s and women’s basketball game.

Through education and enforcement, the Campus Police along with the help of others will work toward increasing safe pedestrian habits by promoting the use of crosswalks and educating walkers on ways they can better interact with drivers. Also, Campus Police will remind drivers of their duty to safely share the roadway, yield to pedestrians in crosswalks and reduce speed in school zones and where conditions warrant.

SAU Chief of Police George Boykin III stated, “Our goal is to raise awareness of pedestrian safety on and off campus and also to educate people on relevant laws and to encourage safe behaviors.”

At the game, Chief Boykin passed out wristband lights to fans which were donated by the Watch-For-Me program to promote the campaign.
