SAU Partners with ed2go to Expand Access to Continuing Education Students

Saint Augustine’s University (SAU) has partnered with ed2go to offer continuing education. The partnership allows SAU to provide a wide range of affordable, highly interactive courses students can take online.

“Our mission at SAU has always been to meet our students where they are and provide them with a quality education,” said SAU President Dr. Christine Johnson McPhail. “Our Adult Learners program has helped many non-traditional students reach their goal of getting their degree and furthering their education. The expansion of our current offerings to include continuing education springboards innovation and proper growth for the university.”

The university began offering continuing education in 1997 through the Gateway Program in the Department of Extended Studies. Since then, SAU has expanded its course offerings. Under the newly formed Department of Professional Studies & Enterprise Services (PSES), SAU provides adult learners access to 30 majors and industry credentials in over 250 areas.

“The adult learning population continues to grow in number as the needs of business and industry diversifies,” said Dr. Leslie Rodriguez-McClellon, Senior Vice President for Student Experience. “SAU understands the critical need to offer contemporary programs and various learning modes to accommodate adult learners. Adults who are entering post-secondary education for the first time, continuing their education, or changing careers will find that SAU is the choice institution to assist them in attaining their educational and career goals. Success for SAU equates to our students succeeding and our ability to contribute to the needs of the communities we serve. PSES is ready to assist students in their success journey.”

The mission of PSES is to design and deliver innovative learning opportunities to help individuals advance to their next level of success in a complex, diverse, and rapidly changing world.

“We prepare students for the next level,” said Dr. Cindy Love, Associate Vice President of Professional Studies and Enterprise Services. “PSES empowers students to break from the predictable and reveal the incredible side of themselves.”

SAU’s partnership with ed2go features online open enrollment programs that provide students the skills necessary to acquire professional-level positions for many in-demand occupations.

“A team of professionals from each respective field design effective web-based programs for our students,” said Brittaney Baker, Continuing Education Program Coordinator. “Instructors/mentors are actively involved in your online learning experience, responding to any questions or concerns and encouraging and motivating you to succeed.”

In addition to expanding course offerings, non-degree certificate courses, and training, PSES also includes support services such as tutoring and access to networking opportunities with over 500 companies.

“Our students can now earn credit for over 30 academic programs in various learning environments. In addition, we now offer in-person, hybrid, and online courses,” said Betty Holman, Director of SAU’s Gateway Access Hub. “We have come a long way since 1997, and I’m excited to transform more lives through expanding our services.”
