Members of SAU Faculty and Staff Recognized by Administration at Spring Professional Institute

On Wednesday, January 6, 2021, The Saint Augustine’s University community gathered virtually for their Faculty and Staff Professional Development Institute.

While in attendance, Interim President Dr. Maria A. Lumpkin recognized faculty and staff members for their outstanding contributions during unprecedented times. They are the first recipients of the “Falcon Attitude” award presented by the Office of the President. This award is a monetary award for faculty and staff members that demonstrate the highest level of commitment towards propelling the enduring mission of SAU forward through innovation, teaching and learning, and supporting the university’s retention goals.
“These outstanding members of our community make a difference in the lives of our students,” comments Dr. Lumpkin. “It is because of their resolve to see students succeed that we continue to make an impact on the lives of our students. Although the reward is intrinsic, this is our way of acknowledging those who go the extra mile for SAU.”

The recognized faculty and staff members are as follows:

Dr. Tyrell Carr, Assistant Professor of the School of Sciences, Mathematics and Public Health

Ms. Tiffany Tuma, Assistant Dean for the Center of Academic Success and Accessible Education, Director of Academic Advising and Title IX Coordinator

Mrs. Joyce Bannerman, Director for Student Success/Testing
